Hm... If it's about movies, I'd have first gotten upon "Fahrenheit 451" or "Soylent Green" (don't know now if there are bases in literature for these). Oh, yeah, "They live" can somewhat also be included in this, although it's a story using aliens in it and rather refers to the present when it was filmed than a distant future.
